Therapy for Adults

Body Wise offers nervous system–centered psychotherapy for adults, informed by trauma, grief, and disability.
All therapy services are provided via secure telehealth and are offered on a private pay basis.

This work is grounded in an understanding of how the nervous system shapes our experiences of safety, connection, stress, and healing. Sessions move at a pace that honors regulation, consent, and the complexity of each individual’s lived experience.

What I Offer

I provide individual therapy for adults seeking thoughtful, trauma- and disability-informed care.

Areas of focus include:

  • Trauma and chronic stress

  • Grief and loss

  • Disability, chronic illness, and neurodivergence

  • Nervous system regulation and capacity-building

  • Life transitions and identity shifts

Rather than relying on quick fixes or symptom-focused approaches, therapy at Body Wise centers the whole person — including the body, nervous system, history, and current context.

How I Work

My approach is collaborative, paced, and grounded in nervous system awareness.

This means:

  • Honoring your capacity and readiness

  • Moving slowly enough for real integration

  • Attending to safety, boundaries, and consent

  • Holding space for both emotional and physiological experience

Therapy is not about pushing through or fixing what feels broken.
It is about creating conditions for steadiness, understanding, and meaningful change over time.

Who This May Be a Good Fit For

This work often resonates with adults who:

  • Want therapy that accounts for trauma and the nervous system

  • Live with disability, chronic illness, or heightened sensitivity

  • Prefer depth, pacing, and relational safety over quick solutions

  • Are seeking a collaborative, grounded therapeutic relationship

  • Are comfortable with private pay services

If you are looking for highly structured, short-term, or crisis-based services, this may not be the best fit.

Practical Information

  • Format: Individual therapy via telehealth

  • Payment: Private pay (insurance is not accepted)

A limited sliding fee scale is available

  • Location: Services provided to clients within my states of licensure: NY, DE, NE

  • Pacing: Therapy begins with a mutual fit process rather than immediate scheduling

I am not able to provide crisis services. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, please contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline.

Education & Professional Training

Body Wise offers nervous system–centered education and training informed by trauma, grief, and disability.
These offerings are designed for clinicians, caregivers, and organizations seeking thoughtful, embodied, and ethically grounded learning.

All education and training through Body Wise are educational in nature and are not psychotherapy or clinical services.

This work emphasizes nervous system awareness, pacing, accessibility, and real-world application, with a focus on supporting sustainable practice and care.

What I Offer

Education and training through Body Wise center the nervous system as a foundational lens for understanding trauma, disability, stress, and resilience.

Offerings may include:

  • Workshops and trainings for clinicians and care professionals

  • Education for community-based organizations and service providers

  • Consultations focused on trauma- and disability-informed practice

  • Speaking engagements and specialized learning experiences

Trainings are informed by both clinical practice and lived professional experience within community residence settings in New York State, allowing education to remain grounded in the realities of disability services and everyday care environments.

Offerings may be provided virtually or in-person, depending on format and context.

Areas of Training Focus

Topics often include:

  • Nervous system regulation in residential and community support settings

  • Trauma-informed care within disability services

  • Supporting individuals with complex trauma and developmental disabilities

  • Preventing caregiver burnout through nervous system awareness

  • Pacing, consent, and capacity in daily care routines

  • Understanding trauma responses in residential environments

  • Disability-informed approaches to grief and loss

  • Building safety and regulation in support relationships

Trainings can be adapted to meet the specific needs of organizations and care teams.

Guiding Principles

Education at Body Wise is grounded in:

  • Respect for nervous system capacity and learning pace

  • Trauma- and disability-informed accessibility

  • Clear boundaries between education and therapy

  • Collaborative and reflective engagement

  • Real-world applicability within systems of care

Rather than quick strategies or surface-level interventions, trainings emphasize depth, integration, and sustainable practice.

Scope and Ethical Boundaries

To support clarity and best practice:

  • Education and training services are not psychotherapy

  • Participation does not establish a therapeutic relationship

  • Content is intended for learning, reflection, and professional development

This distinction allows both therapy and education offerings to remain well-contained and ethically aligned.

Working Together

Body Wise welcomes inquiries from:

  • Clinicians and healthcare professionals

  • Caregivers and direct support staff

  • Community-based organizations and residential service providers

Offerings are well-suited for organizations supporting individuals within OPWDD and other community-based service frameworks, as well as those seeking trauma- and disability-informed education more broadly.

Some trainings are offered as scheduled events, while others may be developed collaboratively to meet organizational needs.
